I chose this site because I think it uses a very innovative method to teach literature. It combines digital literacy with literature in a way that makes literature very relevant.
1) Resources
I appreciated how the site provides interesting resources for many different texts ranging from simple children's books to more complex ones like Macbeth. As such, there are resources which can address students of various academic standards.
2) Innovative Idea
The site seeks to develop an interest in Literature by creating resources for students which allow them to make a geographical journey to AND through the location of the text. Students can imagine that they are the characters of texts and learn through a somewhat experiential journey through the geographical context of the story. I appreciate how the site attempts to encourage students to consider how the text is relevant to themselves and their societies by facilitating discussions as the students "travel" alongside the characters. I find this an innovative and more interactive method of stimulating discussion and to emphasize how students should consider the relevance of literature in their lives. This form of geographical "traveling" also helps to emphasize how historical context is an important component of literature.
3) Since the site is dependent on the contribution of people all over the world, it can also be an interesting way of encouraging students to become more familiar with the texts. Students can be encouraged to approach the text through creating "travel" packages of their own with the incentive that it may be contributed to the site if it meets the standard. Not only would students be able to share their work beyond their classroom, working on such a project would make familiarizing themselves with the historical context, geographical quirks of the period and features of the text fun, challenging and interactive.
